We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Lettings Officer to join our Housing team. You will play a key role in delivering an efficient lettings service, ensuring fair and transparent allocation of social housing, and supporting residents into safe, sustainable homes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the community by helping those in housing need and contributing to the council’s homelessness prevention strategy. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end lettings process for council and housing association properties. Allocate properties in line with the council’s housing policies and procedures. Work closely with applicants to ensure they understand the lettings process and their housing options. Liaise with internal teams, housing associations, and external partners to coordinate property offers. Ensure accurate record-keeping, case notes, and compliance with statutory requirements. Support vulnerable applicants with advice on tenancy sustainment and move-on arrangements. Contribute to service improvements and deliver a customer-focused housing service.About You Experience in housing, lettings, or a customer service role (public sector or social housing experience desirable). Strong knowledge of housing legislation, allocations, and homelessness prevention. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with vulnerable residents. Strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases.
