We are looking for a Person-Centred Mentor to provide holistic support for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse People who are in contact with South Wales Probation Service. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to make a real difference by empowering individuals, reducing barriers, and supporting people to positively move forward with their lives.
The role will involve mentoring, advocacy, and practical solutions—using a solutions-focused, culturally competent approach that ensures individuals feel heard, valued, and supported on their journey towards stability, recovery, and inclusion.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking applicants with:
Experience working within the criminal justice system, with an in-depth knowledge of the National Probation Service, Courts, Police and Prisons.
A strong track record of multi-agency partnership work, with commitment to multidisciplinary working and effective information sharing in the best interests of care.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and develop constructive therapeutic alliances while maintaining professional boundaries.
Understanding of caseload management, including carrying out assessments and presenting reports.
Compassion, resilience, and motivation to empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
