1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEND Location: South Birmingham Role: Full-time, Long-term ️ Start Date: April 2026 We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with moderate to complex needs, primarily Autism, within a specialist school in South Birmingham. About the Role You will work closely with individual pupils, providing consistent and personalised support to help them access learning, develop communication skills, and build independence within a safe and nurturing environment. About the School Specialist provision for pupils with Autism and complex learning needs Warm, inclusive, and well-resourced setting Strong focus on emotional wellbeing, communication, and life skills Supportive and collaborative staff team committed to pupil development About You Experience working with children with SEND, Autism, or complex needs is highly desirable Relevant qualifications (e.g. Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Psychology, Supporting Teaching & Learning) are advantageous but not essential Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships Able to provide references and hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check ✔️ As a Teaching Assistant, part of our team, you benefit from: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
