The Role
Prospero Teaching is recruiting dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to work across Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools throughout Dorset. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in pupils' lives—supporting them to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
You'll play a vital role in helping young people navigate emotional, social, and mental health challenges within a supportive school environment.
* Provide 1:1 and small-group emotional wellbeing support
* Support pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, or social difficulties
* Help students build coping strategies, confidence, and resilience
* Collaborate with pastoral, SEN, and safeguarding teams
* Monitor and record pupil wellbeing and progress
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture
Who We're Looking For
* Experience in mental health, youth work, counselling, SEN, or support roles
* Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Confidence in handling sensitive and challenging situations
* Ability to build trusted, positive relationships with young people
* Strong communication skills and safeguarding awareness
* DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
