We are seeking an experienced Car/Van Mechanic / mot tester to join our small team. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles. Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Day-to-day duties of a Vehicle Technician / Mechanics
* Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
* Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based technology.
* Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects.
* Road testing vehicles to check repairs.
* Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
* Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
* Completing all documentation to the required standard.
Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and repair problems with vehicles.
* Adjust the alignment of the wheels of a vehicle.
* Diagnose repair problems and perform required maintenance, according to customer needs.
* Be able to work under pressure with time constraints.
* Perform light maintenance on all makes of vehicles.
* Diagnose and repair certain kinds of engine problems.
* Service all types of vehicle components, such as air conditioning systems, suspension systems, anti-lock braking systems, and power steering systems.
* Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including servicing & repair, tyre fitting and brake inspections
* Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and transmission issues
* Use power tools and hand tools to disassemble and assemble vehicle components
* Follow schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex vehicle problems
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
* Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs to customers and answering any questions they may have
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role
* Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems
* Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
* Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
* Strong attention to detail

Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
