About the Opportunity
The Specialist Consultancy and Laboratory Solutions business at Jacobs is recruiting for a Principal Consultant to join our team of highly qualified chemists, radiochemists, consultants, and engineers supporting the nuclear industry.
The successful candidate will be based at our Birchwood, Warrington facility and will have the opportunity to support a wide range of projects such as research and development, consultancy, rig builds and site-based support to the nuclear industry; this may include UK and International nuclear new build, support to existing generation, UK and International nuclear fusion, defence, and nuclear regulatory support.
Responsibilities may include.
1. Lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to deliver large complex projects
2. Supervision of the design, build, commissioning and operation of test rigs and facilities
3. Development of new analytical techniques and experimental designs
4. Provide oversight and technical guidance on complex scientific projects
5. Production of high-quality technical reports, and the ability to discuss and present the results to the customers
6. Cultivation of strong collaborative working relationships with clients, partners (ranging in size from multinationals to SMEs), academic organisations and national regulatory organisations.
7. Identification and development of new opportunities to grow the business
8. The ability to develop tender responses, including identifying solutions, authoring of bids, and stakeholder management.
9. Mentorship and development of junior members of the team to help create experts of the future
