We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and grow Advisory work in the defence sector, reporting to the head of Industrial Advisory. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical and commercial success of projects delivered.
Overview
AECOM is a global network of experts delivering advisory, design, engineering, and construction management across the project lifecycle. Our Industrial Advisory team supports UK&I and global projects with industrial expertise and Lean thinking.
Responsibilities
* Lead the business growth of Industrial Advisory in the defence sector
* Support strategic growth objectives of Advisory Services and Industrial Advisory
* Develop a strategic growth plan for defence and deliver on this plan
* Support development of value propositions for Industrial Advisory capabilities in defence environments, including Manufacturing/Mechanical or digital inputs
* Support development of innovative thought leadership and best practice methods for manufacturing process improvements
* Develop a network within AECOM to promote Advisory into projects and with clients
* Develop client relationships through project delivery and business development
* Develop solutions to business/client challenges based on understanding or analysis of business practices and goals
* Collaborate with Advisory Services teams to formulate strategy and offerings that maximise the wider AECOM team
* Ensure projects under your management are delivered to quality, cost, and time constraints
Qualifications
* Must already hold or be capable of applying for Security clearance of SC level (UK resident for at least 5 years), a UK national and single passport holder
* Experienced, approachable leader with strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills
* Background in in-house manufacturing/engineering, design, project, or process improvement, or as part of a machine/system integrator within Defence
* Automation/robotics knowledge and experience advantageous
* Mechanical handling experience including cranes
* Manufacturing equipment design, layout planning or production process planning
* Experience or willingness to develop consulting capacity and stakeholder relationships
* Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle complex problems
* Strong client listening, understanding, and argumentation for services
* Flexible and willing to travel; hybrid working with regular travel to locations in the UK and Europe
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma as applied to projects
* Experience in leading improvement/change projects
* Ideally qualified to HND level or above, or at least ten years of industry experience; professional body membership is advantageous
