Are you passionate about making a real difference in families’ lives? We are excited to introduce a brand-new unique position within our Stronger Families Countywide Service – a Social Work Support Officer role.
Responsibilities
* Provide essential administration support to the countywide fast-paced multi-disciplinary stronger families team (SFT) comprising social work management, youth workers and parent and family workers who work alongside children’s safeguarding teams where children and young people may be at the edge of care or the team are stabilising and supporting their existing care plans; contribute to positive and creative outcomes for children and their families.
* Be the first point of contact for families and the team, managing conversations in a compassionate and professional manner over the telephone.
* Record information accurately onto the internal Mosaic database; maintain high standards of listening, recording and typing to support case work.
* Provide admin tasks including panel organisation and minute taking (where applicable) and support the team with service improvement ideas for the new role based on service needs.
* Work predominantly from home with occasional travel to pre-planned team meetings and professional development; driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.
Qualifications / Skills
* Strong administration skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, databases, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook).
* Excellent organisational and time-management abilities; able to work to deadlines and identify areas for service improvement.
* Ability to build excellent interpersonal relationships with colleagues and service users.
* Compassionate and professional communication skills when dealing with families by phone; ability to listen, record and type accurately.
* Willingness to develop the role based on service needs; experience with Mosaic or similar databases is desirable.
* DS check required; appointment subject to Disclosure and Barring Service check; awareness of safeguarding commitments.

Salary: £26,824 - £29,540 per annum. Type: Permanent. Hours: 37 per week. Work pattern: Full Time. Work Base: Predominantly homeworking with hybrid working arrangements.
