Position Overview
Located in Berkeley, MO, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works is seeking Low Observable (LO) Design & Integration Engineers. Phantom Works is Boeing Defense’s advanced design division responsible for designing, building, and testing future capabilities for national defense. This role supports multiple proprietary programs within the Fixed Wing Prototype & Test organization.
The LO Design & Integration Engineer will contribute to configuration design maturation, conduct high-fidelity Radar Cross Section (RCS) analysis, develop RCS test models, and validate RCS requirements through testing. Candidates should have knowledge of electromagnetic modeling using methods like MoM and Physical Optics (PO).
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on stealth material integration and innovative systems as part of an integrated team, involving both hands-on and deskwork, with some travel expected.
We are hiring for various experience levels: Associate, Experienced, or Senior.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the LO Design and Integration team
2. Work within an Integrated Product Team
3. Develop and integrate cutting-edge low observable technologies
4. Participate in weekly configuration activities
5. Conduct multi-discipline trade studies
6. Perform electromagnetic design optimization
7. Analyze RF signature test data
8. Collaborate with suppliers and customers to meet technical requirements
9. Integrate and test LO components
Additional responsibilities may include:
* Engaging with team members across design, fabrication, and testing
* Communicating results and status to stakeholders
* Creating and editing technical documentation
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously
Additional Requirements
* Work onsite at specified location; travel up to 10% domestically
* Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, data science, or related field
* Level-specific experience: 2+ years (Level 2), 5+ years (Level 3), 9+ years (Level 4)
* Familiarity with LO engineering processes, aircraft design, electromagnetic propagation, and LO materials & processes
