Job Description
An independent small animal practice in South Wales is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-standing, close-knit team — no OOH, no weekends as standard, and a genuine culture of flexibility and trust.
This is a practice where people stay. Many colleagues have been here for over a decade, nurses are developed in-house, and team feedback directly shapes how the practice runs. As an independent, decisions are made quickly and the people doing the work have a real voice in how things are done.
Multi-site, well-equipped, and first-opinion focused — digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, in-house laboratory, and dedicated dental facilities across the group.
The key draws:
* £45,000–£75,000 DOE
* 4-day week, 38 hours, fixed day off every week
* No OOH, no weekends as standard
* ~£3,000 CPD allowance with certificate support
* 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, with long-service entitlement
* Paid professional memberships — RCVS, VDS, and additional bodies
* Flexible and part-time arrangements genuinely welcomed
* Pension contributions
* Optional medical and wellbeing cash-plan schemes
* A stable, independent practice where your input genuinely matters
