You will:
* Own month end, management accounts and reconciliations
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of the P&L and balance sheet
* Keep us compliant and audit‑ready at all times
* Lead budgeting and re-forecasting cycles
* Build models that explain performance and drive decisions
* Partner with budget owners to optimise cost centres, margins and ROI
* Manage VAT, Corporation Tax and statutory returns
* Coordinate with external accountants and advisers as needed
* Turn messy data into clarity - unit economics, pricing, promotions, paybacks
* Automate the boring stuff; champion better tools and smarter processes
* Own cashflow, liquidity and working capital
* Anticipate funding needs and manage FX exposure where relevant
Must‑haves
* Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
* Ideally recently qualified within accountancy practice
* Strong technical grounding, but even stronger commercial intuition
* Advanced Excel/Sheets skills; comfortable building robust, explainable models
* Clear communicator. You can tell the story behind the numbers and influence action
* Real ownership mindset: proactive, practical, outcomes focused
Nice to haves
* Experience in consumer products, FMCG or scale‑up environments
* Exposure to VAT complexities, inventory flows and multi‑channel sales
* Familiarity with ERP systems
