About the role of Assistant Revenue Accountant:
The Assistant Revenue Accountant is responsible for maintaining strong controls around the completeness and accuracy of accounting for revenues and receivables at Chevron, from both a P&L and balance sheet perspective.
Responsibilities will include:
11. Correct allocation of cash receipts
12. Raising sales invoices, ensuring correct VAT accounting for small works and application customers
13. Liaising with client contact to pursue unpaid invoices and applications
14. Liaising with commercial colleagues to resolve client queries
15. Preparing monthly revenue journals
16. Preparing monthly schedules to support balance sheet values for Amounts Receivable On Contracts
17. Maintenance of controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue reporting and balance sheet positions for AROCs and Trade Debtors
18. Undertaking ‘new’ customer credit checks and ensure existing customers have a credit checks
19. Supporting the wider Finance team or wider teams
What good looks like for an Assistant Revenue Accountant:
20. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems
21. Previous demonstrable, practical relevant experience in a Finance environment that required regular reporting, possibly (but not necessarily) in a credit control environment, or in a management accounting environment
22. Good Communicator and Team Worker
23. Highly motivated and able to work under their own initiative
24. Persistent, resilient, organised, flexible, pragmatic
25. Excellent attention to detail
26. Solid grasp of double entry book-keeping and basic accounting principles
27. Comfortable in a change environment
