We’re looking for an International Trade and Customs Carnet Administrator who will be responsible for implementing the new AML Carnet Process.
Reporting directly to the International Trade and Customs Manager and operationally working closely with the AML R&D Engineering Logistics and Travel Manager, you will review and document all AML Carnets into a central database. You will liaise with the relevant teams that have raised the Carnets and with the relevant third parties (third party logistics providers and local Chambers of Commerce) to ensure that Carnets are closed and discharged within the required time-limits.
You will report on a weekly basis the progress of the review and also escalate any Carnets that have expired or are close to expiring to Senior Management.
You will also become the central administrator responsible for the application for future Carnets via an online portal.
Key internal interfaces will be International Trade & Customs, Engineering, Special Projects, Press & Marketing and Legal and Compliance.
Key external interfaces will be with third party logistics providers and local Chambers of Commerce.
The successful candidate will need to be extremely organised, pay key attention to detail and be confident to liaise with parties regularly via all mediums (email, phone etc.). Ideally, the candidate will also have experience or understanding of customs / Carnets but this is not essential.
You will work both with internal cross-functional partners within the business and with external partners and suppliers to help with the implementation of the AML Carnet Process, namely:
1. Becoming the initial point of contact at AML for Carnet applications and queries.
2. Becoming the primary administrator for the application for new Carnets.
3. Creating and maintaining an internal Carnet tracker that details all Carnets, their status and expiry dates.
4. Reporting a weekly status update to Senior Management.
5. Escalating Carnets that are coming close to expiry / have expired to Senior Management.
6. Building and developing an effective network of contacts across the AML business to support the operation of all Carnet processes.
7. Writing standard operating procedures to record the day-to-day operation of the Carnet Process.
8. Supporting the International Trade & Customs Manager and Senior Manager in identifying any risks related to the use of Carnets at AML.
