An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Manager for UK & Ireland to join a dynamic and fast-paced specialist manufacturing business on a contract until October 2027. This is a senior Sales Manager role and my client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running. As the Sales Manager for UK & Ireland, your responsibility is to successfully drive sales, foster client relationships, and ensure the growth of our UK market presence.
As this is an interim position, it is your responsibility to execute the sales plan and strategy in place. The position provides direct leadership of both the external and internal sales team.
Job Description:
1. As the Sales Manager you will oversee and manage the overall sales operations within the UK, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
2. Implement the UK sales plan to drive results in achieving the sales targets.
3. As the Sales Manager you will lead, mentor, and manage the UK sales team to achieve high performance, ensuring individual and team targets are met.
4. As the Sales Manager you will build and maintain strong relationships with existing key customers, supporting the team with other opportunities for account growth and the development of new business.
5. Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reports and business updates to senior leadership.
6. Regular reporting of the sales team as a whole and individuals. Identifying any underperforming areas that need review and action and re-align with the sales plan.
7. As the Sales Manager you will monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback, leveraging insights to refine strategies.
8. Effective cross departmental collaboration between sales, logistics, warehouse and other internal departments that form part of the sales cycle.
9. Work closely with marketing and finance departments from HQ.
10. As the Sales Manager you will promote a high-performance and customer-focused sales culture.
11. Ensure a smooth handover and transition of responsibilities to the permanent Sales Manager.
Candidate Requirements:
12. Must be highly experienced in B2B sales
13. Previous experience working as a Sales Manager, Group Sales Manager, Commercial Manager, Head of Sales, Technical Sales Manager or similar role is essential
14. Must have a background in Construction, Building Materials, Steelwork, Metalwork, Fabrication, Engineering, Manufacturing or similar industry experience is essential
15. Proven leadership and team management capabilities
16. Strong results-oriented and self-motivated mindset
17. Good technical understanding
18. Experience with CRM systems and sales performance reporting
19. Good ability to adapt to change quickly
20. Ability to deliver and execute strategies
21. Full UK driving licence
22. Must be flexible to travel across the UK with overnight stay when needed
23. Have a valid passport with the ability to travel overseas
This role is commutable from: Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke on Trent, Biddulph, Kidsgrove, Crewe, Sandbach, Congleton, Stone, Stafford, Keele, Leek, Cheadle, Nantwich and surrounding areas
This role would suit candidates with the following experience: Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, UK Sales Manager, Head of Sales, Head of Business Development, Commercial Manager, Head of Technical Sales, Technical Sales Manager or similar experience
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
