We are exclusively retained on a confidential search for a Group Human Resources Director to join a dynamic and fast-growing group. Backed by significant capital, the business is scaling across multiple UK and international locations and operates in critical sectors undergoing long-term transformation. This is a rare opportunity to shape the people strategy of an ambitious, values-driven organisation building for the long term.
This role is expected to begin as a 12-month contract, with a very real possibility of transitioning to a permanent position based on mutual fit and ongoing business growth.
The Role
This is a newly created, senior position within the group-level executive team. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner on all people-related matters, including succession planning, leadership development, and organisational design.
This environment suits a strategic HR leader who is hands-on, agile, and comfortable building from the ground up within a lean, decentralised organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the group leadership team on succession planning, organisational design, and long-term workforce planning.
* Build and embed scalable, fit-for-purpose HR infrastructure to support business growth.
* Provide board-level insight into team performance, leadership pipeline, and organisational health.
* Support integration of acquisitions and lead on people aspects of cultural and structural change, as necessary.
* Define and shape group-wide leadership development and talent attraction strategy
* Influence senior teams across diverse operating companies while preserving their autonomy
Candidate Profile
* Proven background as a Group HR Director, Head of People, or senior HR advisor to complex, multi-entity organisations
* Experience partnering with CEOs and boards on strategic people issues
* Demonstrated success in both corporate HR leadership and hands-on delivery
* Exposure to to asset-heavy or operationally intensive sectors sectors preferred
* Deep expertise in organisational design, succession planning, and leadership development
* Commercial, emotionally intelligent, and able to operate in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments
* UK-based, with the ability to travel regularly to London and operating company sites.
