Role: Learning Manager
Academy: Outwood Academy Riverside
Start Date: 02/09/2026
Salary (Actual Salary): £27,438
Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, Term Time plus 15 days
Overview
The Learning Manager will champion student success by monitoring and supporting all students in their assigned year group, focusing on welfare, strategic intervention, and data‑driven monitoring. The role includes removing academic and behavioural barriers, managing complex student cases, and collaborating with external agencies.
Responsibilities
* Strategically monitor all students in the assigned year group using MIS systems and Praising Stars data to identify concerns and implement intervention strategies.
* Act as the first point of contact for behaviour‑related incidents and support the consequences process, including contacting parents regarding exclusions and supporting readmission meetings.
* Coordinate inter‑agency liaison, chair Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings, undertake referrals for families, and support the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps.
* Co‑ordinate year‑group logistics such as vaccinations, photographs and handle attendance checks.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a school environment and demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficiency in standard ICT packages (including Microsoft Office).
* Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
* Experience working with agencies that support vulnerable students is desirable.
