Global Director of Insights and Analytics Location: 5 Marble Arch, London (home & office based) Contract: Permanent, full-time employee About the Role This is an exceptional opportunity to lead our diverse and highly talented Global and Regional Insights team. We are looking for a highly talented and experienced Insights leader who can drive a future proofed Insights and Analytics agenda personally and through others to impact the current and future ambitions of the business. Using all types of research and data and analytics, this role requires candidates who can develop an outside-in view of the world that delivers thought-provocation at all levels of the business. A unique role in the combination of skills, and ability to partner with all functions from strategy, commercial, marketing, innovation and sensory. However, the success of this role will not only be on content, but the ability to influence and impact others in the business through leadership and clarity of actions. About You You will be an experienced Insights or Data and Analytics leader having deployed those skills in a number of settings including B2C and/or B2B. You will be a clear, analytical thinker who sees opportunities that others may not and build that into a clear story for decisions and actions. What you'll be doing Expert in Data, Analytics and Insights: Developing business strategy through expertise in relevant data and analytics. Responsible for selection and execution of key data sources (Nielsen, Mintel and Global Data) to extract maximum value to the business. Building the research and analytics toolkit for the future (including use of AI and other cutting-edge methodologies). Actively identifying where gaps might exist and planning to close these gaps where relevant. Maintain Regional and Global dashboards for use across organization. Work to ensure business issues are translated into specific research objectives resulting in holistic analysis. Be the voice of the consumer and customer: Create a culture where the consumer and customer needs and challenges are within every element of our value propositions and marketing. Sets the standard for insights in category strategies, value propositions and marketing activity. Leads a culture of measurement and evaluation and identification of learnings to fuel better consumer and customer led propositions. Identify opportunities for the future: Design and own processes and tools which proactively identify growth opportunities for customers and Tate & Lyle products and NPD. Creates and leads an Annual Strategic Research plan that will identify opportunities for the future business through addressing consumer, customer, market and industry trends, which will be targeted both for the base business and NPD opportunities. Build sustainable capabilities in the team and wider business: Develop six direct reports to achieve their functional and leadership potential. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners and team to develop relevant training programmes. On a three-year horizon, proactively define the Insights capability and related investment requirements. Required Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Extensive experience in business analytics and insights roles for Ingredient, FMCG companies or Data Insights Agencies/Consultancies. Extensive experience in primary research using a variety of methodologies in either B2C or B2B businesses Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines from multiple stakeholders within a complex organization. Demonstrated examples of leveraging trends, research and business analytics to develop strategy or propositions for brands/businesses Experience and exposure to issues/concerns of FMCG manufacturers. Knowledge of leading techniques in identifying food and beverage category dynamics and translating to relevant business opportunities. Exceptional analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
