About this opportunity :
Join our Personalised Experiences and Communications Platform as a Principal Data Engineer. You'll work within multi-functional product engineering teams to deliver top-quality data capabilities, demonstrating your engineering expertise and cloud opportunities
Whatyou’llbe doing:
1. Architect and implement scalable, resilient, low-latency data systems.
2. Ensure systems meet performance and reliability standards.
3. Collaborate with engineering leadership and stakeholders.
4. Set technical strategy and best practices for data engineering.
5. Deliver solutions for multiple entities within the group.
6. Ensure alignment with business needs and cloud opportunities.
7. Promote secure, high-quality data pipelines.
8. Implement standards for data integrity and compliance.
9. Identifyandeliminaterecurring issues through automation.
10. Improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
11. Provide guidance and technical leadership.
Whatyou’llneed:
12. Extensive industry experience in designing,buildingand supporting distributed systems andlarge-scale data processing systems in production with a proventrack record
13. Proven experience and knowledge of automation and CI/CD.
14. Best practice coding/scripting experience developed in a commercial/industry setting (Python, SQL, Java, Scala or Go).
15. Strong working experience with operational data stores, data warehouse, big datatechnologiesand data lakes
16. Experience in using distributed frameworks (Spark, Flink, Beam, Hadoop)
17. Good knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes etc) and experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS.
18. Strong experience working with(Real Time streaming), such as Kafka technologies
19. Clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, designpatternsand core programming concepts.
20. Good understating of cloud storage, networking, and resource provisioning
And any experience of these would bereally useful:
21. Certification in GCP “Cloud Architect”,“Cloud Developer”,“Professional Data Engineer”
22. Certification in Apache Kafka (CCDAK)
