Veterinary Care Assistant – Days & Nights (Woodcroft Veterinary Group)
Location: Stockport | Full Rota (Days, Evenings & Nights)
Are you passionate about animal care and looking to take the next step in your veterinary career? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our dynamic team at Woodcroft Veterinary Group in Stockport.
Woodcroft Veterinary Group includes a busy, multi-disciplinary referral hospital and emergency service, along with six thriving first-opinion practices. This role offers a rare opportunity to work across both our hospital and branch locations, giving you broad exposure to an exciting and varied caseload—including rotation through our evening and night shifts.
As the largest out-of-hours pet care provider in Stockport, our A+E service operates 24/7, 365 days a year. You'll be working alongside our skilled veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses to deliver exceptional patient care around the clock.
What the Role Involves
* Assisting vets and nurses with patient care in theatres and wards
* Performing diagnostic tests in our fully equipped in-house laboratory
* Handling client communication, including triaging emergency calls and booking appointments
* Supporting the team with general cleaning and restocking of clinical areas
Rota & Shifts
This is a rotating 8-week shift pattern, including:
* 5 weeks of daytime shifts
* 1 week of evening shifts
* 7 night shifts spread over the 8-week period

What We're Looking For
* Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C/9-4) including Maths and English
* Previous experience working with or handling animals
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and within a large team
