Position Overview
A permanent full‑time trainee shop manager position in Northampton, working a variety of shifts within a 5‑day, 45‑hour week. The role offers an 18‑month training programme that culminates in a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification and, upon successful completion, a permanent employment contract.
Hours and Pay
* 45 hours across 5 days per week.
* Annual salary: £32,648–£35,306, with review after 6 months.

Training Programme
* Initial training alongside an experienced shop manager.
* Running the shop with high support from an Area Manager.
* Approx. 3‑6 months into training you take full responsibility subject to performance review.
* Work towards a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification with Inspiro.
* Support with upskilling Maths and English if required.
* Completion of an independent end‑point assessment at the end of the programme.
* Programme length: 18 months; successful completion leads to permanent employment.
Responsibilities
* Complete an Employment Verification and Basic DBS/Disclosure Scotland check if successful.
* Be fully accountable for the shop, ensuring customers are looked after and routines are maintained.
* Motivate and guide the team to be successful and efficient.
* Lead by example and manage day‑to‑day shop tasks.
* Control key costs including payroll, shrinkage and waste.
* Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.
* Recruit, train and develop the team.
