About us… Contextual Safeguarding is a cutting-edge approach to understanding and responding to young people’s experiences of significant harm beyond their families. It acknowledges that the relationships young people form in their neighbourhoods, schools, and online can involve violence and abuse. Since parents and carers have limited influence over these contexts, it is crucial for social care practitioners to engage with those who do. This approach expands child protection systems to address the vulnerabilities of young people in various social settings. Are you ready to lead with passion, innovation, and dedication? This is your opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of adolescents experiencing extra-familial harm and exploitation. About the role… As the Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing the Contextual Safeguarding approach across Lancashire Children’s Social Care. Caseload Management: Maintain a sensible caseload, with an average of 12 children, allowing your team to deliver high-quality support. Flexibility and Trust: Benefit from a flexible working environment that values outcomes over clock-watching, with opportunities to work from home and adjust your hours. Professional Growth: Challenge and develop your team and yourself, driving excellence and motivating your team even in the face of tough decisions. Qualifications: Degree in Social Work, with relevant professional registration. Experience: Proven track record in formal or informal leadership within a social work or safeguarding context.
