Role: Facilities Maintenance Electrician Employment type: Permanent - Full-Time Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 DOE Company benefits Location: Blackburn, Lancashire ⏲️Working hours: 4 day working week Monday – Thursday 37hrs standard An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join a fast-paced, highly regulated industrial environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of site facilities, systems and equipment. The Role You will be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned mechanical & electrical maintenance, ensuring maximum uptime of plant and equipment. Working across a wide variety of building services—including HVAC, electrical systems, lighting, power, plumbing and ventilation—you’ll help keep operations running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities * Carry out reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building services * Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across facilities, systems and equipment * Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete repairs with minimal downtime * Install, commission and test new plant, systems and infrastructure * Coordinate and oversee external contractors and specialist service providers * Maintain accurate records including service logs, permits, risk assessments and calibration data * Support environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives around the site * Ensure all work meets health, safety, environmental and statutory standards * Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability-driven projects * Collaborate with production, operations and other site teams to plan maintenance * Provide support for emergency or out-of-hours issues when required The Candidate Essential qualifications: * NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical, mechanical or Building Services Engineering * BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Experience: Proven background in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment Skills & Attributes: * Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail * Effective communicator with good teamwork abilities * Able to organise and manage your own workload * Flexible, proactive and hands-on approach * Positive “can-do” attitude Desirable: * Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries * Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) Interested?
