Job Title: Devops Engineer
Location: Hybrid, one day onsite MOD Corsham
Contract Type: Contract Outside IR35
Salary: £450-470 a day Outside
Security Clearance: SC required, DV beneficial or willingness to be processed through a DV clearance
The Opportunity
Our client is a leader in digital and software services, supporting critical UK defence and government projects. This role offers the chance to work on advanced cloud hosting platforms for the Royal Navy, playing a key part in securing and optimising mission-critical infrastructure.
The Role
As a Devops Engineer, you will work as part of a highly skilled team enhancing the infrastructure automation tooling for the delivery of high quality private cloud environments. You will:
* Manage and enhance the Kubernetes offering to the programme
* Automate cloud deployments
* Create operating procedures and processes
The Person
You should have experience as an Infrastructure Devops Engineer within defence, MOD, or government environments.
Essential Skills Include
Must have operational experience in a production setting with VMWare Cloud Foundation operations, including:
* VMWare Tanzu (Iaas Control Plane, VKS)
* Aria Automation (formally VRA)
* VMware Aria Orchestrator
* Experience in DevOps within an infrastructure and network context
* Linux operating system (Ubuntu preferred) design, deploy and troubleshoot Windows OS AND active directory
* Experience in Terraform, Ansible and ideally packer in an air gapped environment
Desirable Knowledge
* k8 /container / Tanzu Kubernetes grid exposure / experience
Security Clearance
SC clearance required
DV clearance beneficial
This role requires 1 day per week on-site at MOD Corsham, with occasional travel to other sites.
