Technical Field Sales Account Manager, £55,000 Basic Salary | £65,000 OTE | Car Allowance & Benefits. Midlands Based (National Coverage). This is an outstanding field-based account management opportunity for a technically minded sales professional with a Mechanical Engineering bias looking for their next career step. You will be joining a niche division of a highly regarded group, selling high-value technical solutions to Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Defence, High-Tech, Marine, and Railways.
The Role ofTechnical Field Sales Account Manager
This is a high-impact national role, split 50/50 between proactive new business generation and managing over 100 active accounts (65 of which have traded in the last 12 months). Selling primarily into OEMs, you will be a "chameleon of a sales professional"-equally comfortable laughing with shop-floor staff as you are pitching £100K annual rolling contracts at board level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Account Management: Developing brilliant relationships and solid sales habits across a diverse client base.
* New Business Development: Using a proactive spirit to hunt for new opportunities within high-tech sectors.
* Technical Solution Selling: Providing bespoke customer solutions, writing technical reports, and managing complex requirements.
* National Coverage: Frequent travel and occasional overnight stays are required; as such, the ideal living location is in the East or West Midlands.
About You
We are looking for an ambitious, likeable, and gregarious individual with a "winning spirit" who always puts the customer first.
* Experience: You must have a minimum of one year's Field Sales experience with a proven track record of technical field sales.
* Technical Pedigree: A background as a Mechanical Engineer, an engineering apprenticeship, or an engineering degree is a "must have". You must be able to read drawings and understand technical specifications.
* Personal Attributes: You are a "sponge for information," detail-oriented, and a strong believer in proven sales methods and journey planning.
* Language Skills: While not essential, fluency in another European language would be a massive benefit.
* Career History: Your CV should demonstrate loyalty, achievement, and a logical career path.
