A forward-thinking independent day school for boys and girls aged 2 to 18 located in Sevenoaks, Kent. Catering for 800 students and teachers daily, offering breakfast and lunch, with some hospitality throughout the year. This is a term-time only position working 35 weeks a year, operating Monday to Friday.
Shift timings: 0700 - 1500 or 0800 - 1600 (Flexible)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at our prestigious contracts in Sevenoaks.
Role responsibilities:
* Serve clients during breakfast, lunch, or dinner service.
* Help set up the dining room for service.
* Prepare food for service, following hygiene and safety standards.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy according to standards.
* Clear, clean, and store food, beverage, or equipment for special functions.
* Restock and replenish stocks during service to ensure quality service.
* Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment; clean and store equipment and areas.
* Perform cleaning and hygiene duties.
* Interact professionally with customers and staff.
General responsibilities:
* Adhere to policies and procedures to promote a professional approach.
* Wear a neat and clean uniform.
* Conduct food temperature checks and other safety checks.
* Follow reasonable requests from management.
* Report hazards and ensure health and safety compliance.
Personal skills and attributes:
* Experience in catering and customer service.
* Teamwork, good listening skills, initiative, and personal hygiene.
* Flexibility, reliability, honesty, and customer-focused attitude.
* Willingness to learn and take responsibility.
* Ability to lift, carry, and push moderately heavy items.
* Good verbal and written English skills.
* Experience in food preparation or customer service preferred.
