The role is hours per week, candidates wishing to keep their current post and take this on as a split role must currently work at least hours per week to ensure they have sufficient remaining service hours.
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated part time Occupational Therapist (OT) Clinical Advisor, to join the Integrated Community Equipment service (ICES) Clinical Lead based at a Community Rehab Service Base (to be decided on appointment), and the ICES provider.
This Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist role is based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. You would be working with the existing Clinical Lead ICES providing advice and information to commissioners, contract offices, prescribers and ICES provider staff on all matters regarding the provision of equipment via the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Integrated Community Equipment Service.
This post will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to consolidate their community, clinical, teaching and managerial skills. You will be working with individuals from a range of organisations including acute trusts, Cambridgeshire County Council, Peterborough City Council, Cambridgeshire Community Services et al,
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is able to work as an autonomous practitioner across multiple organisations and clinical groups to provide a high standard of advice and support to prescribers (and others) involved in patient care on issues related to equipment provision.
Your role will include creating and delivering training, supporting prescribers with challenging cases, advising ICES commissioners of suitable products for the ICES catalogue, ensuring the provider maintains high performance standards with the contract officer, overseeing feedbacks, developing standard operating procedures, keeping criteria current and up to date, authorising equipment orders et al.
You will be responsible for your own workload, prioritising tasks according to clinical need, signposting appropriately and undertaking a range of tasks using advanced, specialist clinical and reasoning skills.
You will be expected to contribute to student placements, either virtually, or by offering half day visits, for students on placement with any stakeholder organisation.
