Season To Taste in Cambridge is looking for a backwaiter to join their team.
The Backwaiter is the key support role in the restaurant dining room. They can function as both a busser and food runner. The Backwaiter is primarily there to assist servers while ensuring all guests feel welcome and attended to.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring water to the table
2. Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for the next course.
3. Clear and reset tables after guests leave
4. Assist in any cleaning tasks that arise during service
5. Restock service stations
6. Polishing glassware, silverware, and plateware
7. Respond promptly to guest requests and relay guest requests to the servers as needed
8. Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service
9. Assist servers and chef as needed with food delivery
10. Thank guests as they are leaving
11. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
12. 1+ year restaurant experience preferred
13. Be able to work as part of a team
14. Positive attitude and hardworking
15. Be able to carry up to 40lbs
16. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Teamwork is very important and you will need to be able to work well with a small team of people, including back of house and management.
Position will be for four evening shifts and will include some weekend shifts.
