SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN School, Poole
Full‑time, Monday-Friday | Temp‑to‑Perm | £ per hour | Exceptional training & development
This is a great opportunity for a compassionate, resilient and dedicated individual to join a warm, highly specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2-19 with a wide range of special educational needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities, and life‑limiting conditions.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, communication, personal care and wellbeing. Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every pupil can thrive.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Type of Work: Classroom‑based SEN support within a specialist school
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full‑time, Monday-Friday, temp‑to‑perm
Pay: £ per hour
Hours: 08:45 – 15:30
Experience, Training and Qualifications
1. Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, residential or community settings)
2. Understanding of PMLD, complex needs, communication difficulties or sensory needs
3. GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths
4. Confident using basic IT systems and able to follow learning plans
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
6. High levels of professionalism, empathy and emotional intelligence
7. Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs
8. Understanding of safeguarding, equality and data protection principles
