Senior Design Engineer
Certain Advantage is hiring for a Senior Design Engineer based in the Derby area. This role is on a permanent or contract basis and is site-based.

We’re working with an engineering company specialising in managing complex infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on nuclear energy, renewable energy, and digital transformation solutions.
The Role
This role is for a Senior Design Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results‑oriented and driven to succeed. You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:
* Design new engineering components and assemblies
* Produce models and drawings of components and assemblies using CAD systems
* Research new product ideas and methods
* Improve existing products and processes
* Alter and modify the design
* Present concept and final designs to customer
The Individual
We’re looking for people who can show:
* Nuclear sector background or other highly regulated industry sectors.
* High degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
* Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model creation and drawing creation
* Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
* Professional qualification in an engineering‑related field
* SC Clearance or capable of achieving it.
