Reporting to: Head of Purchasing and Product

This role will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, services and managing vendors as well as assisting the Head of Purchasing and Product with the day-to-day buying activities. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of expenditure.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
* Forecast levels of demand for services and products, ensuring order logs are reviewed monthly and ad hoc orders looked at daily. Responsible for indirect purchasing, Online purchases.
* Supporting the Procurement function in delivering the most effective procurement strategy.
* Managing suppliers to improve quality and on time delivery. Ensuring all orders are placed in a timely manner and orders followed up to make sure delivery is on time.
* Being the go-to person for all supplier related issues.
* Sourcing materials for production daily needs.
* Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
* Liaising with various stakeholders – both internal and external to ensure the availability of materials for production
* Working weekly with accounts, ensuring goods in transit sheets are updated so accounts are aware of spending and when invoices need paying.
* To attend daily onsite production and project meetings with various departments.
* To ensure supplier documents, systems and calendars are kept up to date.
* Ensuring stock is booked to European warehouses weekly/Fortnightly. Ensuring packing lists and invoices are correct with commodity codes and pricing.
* Working with freight forwarders to arrange collection of goods from suppliers.
* Putting out regular core product searches with various core dealers with the intention of buying core or selling excess core.
* Purchase orders to be checked and confirmed with suppliers and updated.
* Predelivery of goods to be put onto the system using supplier packing lists.
* Keeping records of all ad-hoc orders.
* Keeping availability report up to date for weekly meetings.
* Regular reporting to the Purchasing Manager.
* Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers;
* Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors;
* To support continual improvement activities of the company Quality and Health & Safety management system standards
* To work constructively and co-operate with achieving the Company/Department objectives
* To ensure that any agreed deadlines/targets are met, or to raise issues that impact on these objectives in a timely manner
* Support the communication requirements to ensure the effectiveness of the company quality management system is maintained
* Promote a risk-based thinking approach with all employees to deliver conformity of the company’ products and services

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND Attributes
* Good oral and written communication skills;
* Strong analytical skills;
* The ability to adapt to different stakeholders needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships;
* An excellent standard of numeracy in order to analyse facts and figures.
* A flair for negotiation and networking;
* The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines
* Excellent understanding of the importance of Customer focus
* A confident approach
* CIPS would be advantageous but not essential

Salary: Up to £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
