Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter / Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems and structures across various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, schematics, and mechanical systems, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a construction or maintenance environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for welding and pipe fitting to develop their skills within a dynamic team. The work is predominantly on biogas plants around the UK.
Responsibilities
* Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to determine piping layouts and specifications.
* Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques suitable for welding standards to join pipes and components securely.
* Install, repair, and maintain piping systems using appropriate hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other mechanical tools.
* Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and fit pipes accurately according to project requirements.
* Conduct inspections of welded joints and piping systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
* Assist in the maintenance of existing piping infrastructure by troubleshooting issues and executing repairs as needed.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
Skills
* Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, and other welding techniques suitable for standards.
* Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to piping systems.
* Mechanical knowledge with experience in construction or maintenance environments.
* Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and assembly tools effectively.
* Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during installation or repairs.
* Experience with plumbing systems and general maintenance tasks is advantageous.
* Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
