* 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights 12 hour shifts on rotation)

The Company
IPN is an innovative, well‑established, and award‑winning pet food manufacturer, employing over 850 people across our 4 UK manufacturing sites. Our family of brands include Harringtons, Wagg, Barking Heads & Meowing Heads, AATU, Blink, Butchers, Classic Cat and a selection of partner brands that trust us to produce food on their behalf. Our kitchens in Thirsk, Kinmel and Crick produce dry, wet, and baked foods which are enjoyed by dogs and cats all over the world.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer with electrical bias to join our Engineering team, based in our factory in Crick, Northampton.
To establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continually develop the site’s asset base by following the Engineering strategy for proactive work whilst responding to breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities - Shift Engineer
* Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad‑hoc repairs in a timely manner, prioritising works in line with site priorities to ensure efficient production.
* Assess the need for spares, ensuring the critical spares list is up to date and stock is at required levels; escalated any issues promptly to the Engineering Manager.
* Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment; champion safety.
* Use root cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed.
* Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications - Shift Engineer
* Qualified or time served in Electrical and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
* Experienced in the use and operation of CMMS.
* Reliability Management expertise (e.g., FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM).
* Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level – desirable.
* Legionella and HACCP awareness – desirable.
* Experience in FMCG – desirable.
