Role Overview
As a Commercial Data Analyst, you'll sit at the intersection of operations and finance, ensuring data accuracy, producing meaningful reporting, and supporting commercial decision-making. There is hands-on data administration involved because clean data equals credible insight. You'll be trusted to improve it, manage it, and interpret it.
The Commercial Data Analyst will report into finance while working closely with operational and commercial teams across the business. You'll gain exposure to how performance is measured, how margins are protected, and how operational efficiency is improved.
What You'll Be Doing
Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards for operational and commercial reporting
Producing accurate weekly and monthly performance reports for senior stakeholders
Managing and cleansing data to ensure consistency and reliability
Supporting finance with reconciliations and reporting packs
Analysing trends, performance metrics and KPIs across the automotive industry environment
Completing structured data entry and administrative updates to maintain system integrity
Working with operations teams to improve data capture processes
Identifying reporting inefficiencies and suggesting improvements
What We're Looking For
Strong Power BI experience - building dashboards from scratch, not just refreshing them
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups and data manipulation
A numerical or business-related degree, or equivalent commercial experience
High attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy
Confidence working with multiple departments
Someone local to Barnsley who can be hybrid.
An interest in developing a long-term career in analysis within the automotive industry
Exposure to reporting, data administration or commercial analysis in a placement year or first role would be highly beneficial.
