Community Fundraising and Partnerships Officer

Join to apply for the Community Fundraising and Partnerships Officer role at The Dash Charity.

Hours of work: 4–5 days per week (flexible), some evening and weekends (with toil).

Location: Hybrid (Home-based with regular travel to Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor, ideally based within 1 hour of the area).

Term: Permanent/Contract.

About Us

The Dash Charity has been supporting individuals experiencing domestic abuse for almost 50 years. Every year, we empower women, men and children to recognise the tactics of abuse, break the cycle and take back control of their lives.

We were one of the first charities in the UK to receive Leading Lights status for our Advocacy and Outreach Services, and we pioneered healthy relationships workshops in schools over a decade ago. Today we run three refuges offering sanctuary to women and children escaping violence, alongside specialist support services that help families rebuild their lives.

Our mission is simple: to create a safer future for every survivor of domestic abuse.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and people‑focused fundraiser to join our ambitious team as Community Fundraising and Partnerships Officer.

Key Responsibilities

* Grow community income and build meaningful partnerships with local companies, schools, individual supporters and groups.
* Shape and deliver inspiring fundraising initiatives that engage the community and raise vital funds.
* Be the key link between Dash and our supporters, ensuring every donor, volunteer and partner feels valued and connected to our mission.

Relationship Management

* Build and nurture strong relationships with schools, clubs, companies, community groups and individuals.
* Represent Dash at meetings and presentations and be the point of contact for supporters, maintaining a highly personalised approach throughout the donor journey.
* Nurture internal relationships within Dash to explore cross‑team income generation and to ensure our community fundraising communications accurately reflect the work of the charity.

Supporters and Volunteers

* Lead the delivery of supporter‑led fundraising, ensuring those fundraising for us have what they need – from advice and materials to motivation and celebration.
* Build respectful, supportive relationships with our volunteers, offering training, support, guidance and feedback.
* Recruit, train and support a portfolio of supporters and volunteers to work on specific projects and fundraising activities.

Income Generation

* Develop and deliver community fundraising initiatives to achieve agreed income targets.
* Harness annual campaigns (e.g. White Ribbon Day, the Big Give Christmas Challenge) and encourage participation.
* Promote third‑party fundraising events (marathons, sponsored runs, etc.) and recruit participants.

Campaigns and Events

* Plan and deliver local campaigns and events that inspire community support.
* Work with local businesses and groups to co‑create impactful fundraising activities.

Marketing and Promotion

* Create, maintain and provide resources and packs for community use.
* Work with colleagues but also lead on social media activity that promotes fundraising and celebrates supporter achievements. Also support the wider social media activity of the charity to raise awareness.

Monitoring and Reporting

* Maintain accurate supporter records using our CRM (Donorfy).
* Track and report on income, supporter engagement and fundraising trends.

Governance and Compliance

* Ensure all fundraising activity complies with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice and relevant policies.
* Maintain confidentiality of supporter, survivor, staff and volunteer information.
* Support the CEO with reports to the Senior Management Team on fundraising performance and pipelines.

Person Specification

* At least three years’ experience in community fundraising.
* Experience of successfully delivering against financial targets within a community fundraising role and within specified deadlines.
* Experience of building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with supporters using strong stewardship skills.
* Experience of using social media to promote fundraising campaigns or to engage supporters.
* Experience of using a CRM or equivalent system to manage supporter engagement.
* Experience of recruiting, training and supporting volunteers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and writing fundraising materials.
* Creative, confident self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
* Full UK driving licence and access to use of a vehicle.
* Experience managing relationships with companies and corporate partners.
* Knowledge of Donorfy (CRM).
* Empathetic understanding of the issues faced by survivors of domestic abuse.
* Knowledge of local communities in Berkshire and South Bucks.
* A fundraising qualification or attendance at relevant training courses.

What We Offer

* The chance to shape and grow community fundraising at a respected, life‑changing charity.
* A genuinely supportive, collaborative culture where every contribution is valued.
* Flexible hybrid working (4–5 days per week) to help you balance work and life.
* Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.
* The daily reward of seeing the difference your work makes.

Additional Information

* This role will require an enhanced DBS check, which we will arrange and cover the cost of.
* Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
* We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and actively encourage those with lived experience of domestic abuse to apply.
