About the Role

This is a semi-autonomous pharmacist role, where you will be the pharmacist based at the Findlay Community Hospital while also providing pharmacy cover for Ferryfield Community Hospital, delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients undergoing rehabilitation. While working independently as the dedicated pharmacist in the multidisciplinary team, you will also have close alignment with the wider clinical pharmacy team at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and across NHS Lothian, ensuring strong professional support and development.

Findlay Community Hospital consists of two wards. Ward 1 provides Hospital-Based Complex Clinical Care, dedicated to the psychiatry of old age and focusing on older adults with advanced dementia. Ward 2 features Intermediate Care Facility beds, offering essential rehabilitation services for elderly adults with mobility impairments and various co-morbidities. Similarly, Ferryfield Community Hospital provides Hospital-Based Complex Clinical Care across its two wards. Specifically, Ward 1 and Ward 2 at Ferryfield offer care to patients requiring functional psychiatry and psychiatry of old age services, respectively.'

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Providing patient-centred pharmaceutical care, including medicines reconciliation, clinical review, and seamless care planning.
2. Optimising medicines use through the systematic identification and resolution of pharmaceutical care issues.
3. Collaborating closely within the multidisciplinary team, where pharmacy is a highly valued contributor to patient outcomes.
4. Delivering medicines information and patient counselling, ensuring safe and effective medication use post-discharge.
5. Contributing to service development, shaping the future of rehabilitation pharmacy services within NHS Lothian.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

10. A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
11. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
12. Completion of, or equivalent competence mapped to, the

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
