Service Care Solutions is supporting the COVID-19 Inquiry in Scotland, who are seeking Assistant Solicitors to join their legal team. As an Assistant Solicitor, you will play a crucial role within the Inquiry’s legal team—investigating evidence, identifying witnesses, supporting hearings, and contributing to the final report. Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Solicitor role:
Provide general legal advice to the Chair and Inquiry team, with particular regard to the Inquiries Act 2005, Inquiries (Scotland) Rules 2007, and data handling.
Take witness statements and/or oversee statement takers.
Draft and ensure compliance with Inquiry procedural and protocol documents
Manage redaction and disclosure of evidence in accordance with Inquiry policies
Qualified solicitor or advocate in Scotland.
Exceptional attention to detail for rigorous legal document analysis
Hybrid working: typically 2 days per week in the Edinburgh office.
Flexible and hybrid working options considered depending on role needs.
Contract Length: 18 months
Edinburgh (Hybrid – 2 days in office)
Ltd Day Rate: £302.PAYE Rate inc. of Holiday:£257.
