As a Software Engineer II in the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will work within an agile team to enhance, design, and deliver software components for state-of-the-art technology products. You will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, gaining valuable skills and experience to grow in your role. You’ll contribute to secure, stable, and scalable systems, collaborate with team members, and help drive innovation. Your work will support the development of high-quality applications and foster a culture of respect and inclusion.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
2. Write secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language
3. Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream systems
4. Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance automation
5. Identify opportunities to automate and optimize development pipelines
6. Apply technical troubleshooting to break down and solve basic technical problems
7. Gather, analyze, and interpret large, diverse data sets to support secure application development
8. Learn and apply system processes and methodologies for secure, stable code and systems
9. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
10. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
11. Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages such as Python
12. Strong Python and Spark experience
13. Familiarity with GenAI-enabled coding tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining secure coding standards
14. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
15. Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages
16. Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle
17. Exposure to agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
18. Experience with AWS technologies such as AWS Glue, Kinesis, and Redshift, or similar from other cloud providers
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
19. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
20. Exposure to cloud technologies, especially AWS
21. Familiarity with Spark, Flink, or Beam
