Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurse Team and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
A Practice Healthcare Assistant level 3 is qualified to deliver the following services to patients.
* Dressings, directed by the practice nurse
* Annual health checks for patients with Chronic Diseases (MOTs)
* ECG recording
* Blood pressure checks including 24 hr BP
* Height/weight
* Ear Syringing
* H‑Pylori breath testing
* Administer Flu injections to patients 65 and over, and chronic disease patients
* Perform patient ear checks, ear syringes and hearing tests
* INR & HB INRs
* Handheld spirometry

Person Specification
Experience
* minimum 1 year experience of working with people
* Experience of working in primary care or a hospital setting
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* Phlebotomy training certificate
* NVQ in health and social care
