The Head of Merchandising for Sports & Branded at Office and Offspring will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our merchandising strategy. Driving innovation, enhancing the Customer experience, and increasing sales and profit through collaboration with the world’s most prestigious brands. This position is designed for a visionary leader passionate about footwear.
What we are offering you
* The role reports to the Managing Director and manages the sports and branded merchandising teams.
* Lead the development and implementation of the business product supplier strategy, build strong partnerships, deliver profit, and manage risks.
* Negotiate supplier terms; manage relationships and communication with suppliers, understanding their strengths and potential issues.
* Plan, agree, and communicate an effective critical path to ensure timely delivery of products each season, with all teams adhering to the timelines.
* Lead the development of Seasonal Strategies and KPIs, including option count, sales, markdowns, margins, stock levels, customer segment proportions, and sell-through.
* Manage the Merchandising teams to deliver and optimize these KPIs throughout the seasons.
* Enable a flexible stock planning and buying process that supports new store openings, sub-brands, and other business opportunities.
* Oversee range planning and forecasting to meet key KPI targets.
* Ensure the team makes informed commercial decisions on pricing, shipments, and quantities to meet margin targets.
* Optimize open-to-buy and in-season repeats, and identify trading risks to take corrective actions such as cancellations, price adjustments, or reduced quantities.
* Implement planning and processes to fully utilize omnichannel capabilities and move stock efficiently through the supply chain.
* Collaborate with Finance to plan and update sales and margin forecasts, suggesting trading actions based on current data.
* Manage the Merchandising P&L budget.
* Lead team performance, set objectives, provide coaching and development, give regular feedback, and address performance issues.
