Responsibilities
* Participate in the pharmacy “top‑up” service, initially at Hull Royal Infirmary and later at Castle Hill Hospital once trained.
* Visit clinical areas, identify and document the quantity of stock that requires ordering.
* Check the expiry dates of stock held and ensure proper stock rotation when putting stock away.
* Ensure wards and departments receive stock in a timely manner and are promptly notified of any shortages.
* Support and/or participate in the processing of top‑up requests and amendments from all clinical areas using the Pharmacy Computer System according to standard operating procedures.
* Support and/or participate in the processing of ad‑hoc requests/orders using the Pharmacy Computer System according to standard operating procedures.
* Perform ward fluid top‑up.
* Recycling, picking, packing and dispatch of goods to wards and departments.
* Assist in distribution when trained.
* Help to distribute drugs around Trust sites using trust transport when trained.
Qualifications
* Successful applicant will undertake a level 2 qualification in stock management.
* Willingness to embrace changes and new ways of working.
Working Hours
The ward stock assistants will work 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Working hours can be tailored to individual needs between 7:30 am and 2:00 pm. The successful applicants will participate in the bank holiday working arrangements of the department.
