FBR Recruitment is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to work on a construction project in Exeter. The role will require both monitoring of a principal contractor and the candidate must be able to act on behalf of the client whilst maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the contractor. The successful candidate must be someone who can work independently\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\n * Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;\n * Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project;\n * Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor;\n * Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site;\n * Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship;\n * Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client’s requirement;\n * Managing the client’s health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;\n * Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations;\n * Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work;\n * Cooperating with others involved with the project;\n * Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;\n * Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;\n * Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site;\n * Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance\nKey Skills:\n * Sound construction related health and safety management experience post Tech IOSH qualification;\n * Experience of delivering services on a live construction site;\n * Cohesive knowledge of construction methods and materials;\n * Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of construction related health and safety management;\n * Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction;\n * Excellent communication skills – both oral and written;\n * Methodical way of thinking and approach to work;\n * Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills;\n * Ability to prepare first class bids for services;\n * Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;\n * Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.\nQualifications\n * NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates/Tech IOSH minimum (will be considered with right amount of experience and other qualifications)\n * NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.\nThe rate is £300 - £350 pay a day but negotiable depend on experience.\nPlease send your CV via email
