JOB TITLE: Estimator LOCATION: London Job Purpose: TEXO Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist Principal Contractor and Principal Designer serving tier-one housing associations as part of the Building Safety Unit recladding framework. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor renowned for technical expertise, management capability, and successful delivery of complex projects throughout the UK. Role Overview: We are seeking a capable and motivated Estimator with a strong background in cladding systems to support the delivery of high-profile recladding and façade refurbishment projects across London. As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in pricing works accurately and competitively, contributing to safe, compliant, and successful project delivery in line with current building safety requirements. Key Responsibilities: Produce detailed cost estimates for cladding and façade packages using architectural and structural information. Conduct accurate quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns. Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes. Identify risk factors and commercial opportunities during tender review. Work closely with commercial and project delivery teams to finalise proposals. Prepare and submit tenders in accordance with client and framework requirements. Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits where necessary. Maintain pricing libraries and historical cost records. Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation discussions. Requirements: Proven experience as an Estimator in the UK construction industry, with particular focus on cladding or external walling systems. Strong understanding of cladding materials and methods, such as ACM, GRC, rainscreen, fibre cement, curtain walling, and metalwork. Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documents. Proficient in Excel and digital take-off tools; knowledge of Bluebeam or equivalent is desirable. High attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills. Clear communication skills and ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple tenders. Desirable: HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field. Experience delivering works in line with current UK building safety and façade remediation standards. Familiarity with social housing or housing association frameworks.
