Finance – Reporting & Accounting ("R&A")
Location: Edinburgh (St Andrews Sq) – hybrid with a mix of office and home working.
Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 base depending on experience, plus benefits listed below.

About the role
The role is newly created in the Reporting and Accounting team. Key responsibilities include reviewing, challenging and analysing financial information; supporting period‑end close activities; assisting with internal and external audits; ensuring performance of financial reporting controls; designing and establishing best‑practice processes and documentation following the new ERP implementation; adding value to the Pubs reporting team.
You’ll act as a key coordination point for the accounting processes performed by the Pubs finance team in Edinburgh, and you’ll partner with Process Control and Improvement, Internal Audit and Digital & Technology teams. Extensive collaboration with external auditors will also be required. The position supports Heineken’s Global Digital Backbone project in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
* Accountant (part‑qualified or newly qualified) with experience in internal and external financial reporting.
* Experience:
o Period‑end close processes and balance sheet reconciliation.
o IFRS or UK GAAP/FRS 101 accounting standards.
o Liaising with external auditors.
* Skills:
o Effective communicator.
o Team player with strong stakeholder relationships.
o Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, large data manipulation).
o Excellent analytical skills with an enquiring mindset.
o Motivated by continuous process and control improvement and efficiency.
* Desirable (not required):
o Experience with a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Business Central, etc.) or other sub‑ledger system.
o Involvement in prior system migration, implementation or major upgrade.
o Familiarity with data governance and data integrity principles.
o Experience within FMCG or a large organisation.
