What You'll Do
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in both CNC machining and electronics, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering top-notch solutions. You will need to be able to utilise creative problem solving, have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, as well as collaborate and coordinate with the rest of our dedicated team who take pride in their work and ensure quality at all points of the process.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision wood components in 2D sheets and 3D carved components.
Adjust machine parameters/tooling to achieve desired outcomes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
Monitor the production process and make necessary adjustments to meet rigorous quality and project specifications.
Fabricate and assemble wooden components using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, shape and finish wooden pieces according to project specifications and art style.
Collaborate with the design team to bring creative concepts to life.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage of tools and materials.
Perform regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Requirements
Proven experience in CNC Operation and Bench Joinery/Carpentry.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC machining and woodworking.
Sketch up and CAM software desirable.
Full driving licence and access to a car (due to rural location of workshop).
Relevant technical training or certification in CNC machining, carpentry, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Perks
Salary: £25,000–£35,000 (DOE)
Usual Hours: Full-time, 4-day workweek (Mon–Thu, 8am–6pm)
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
