Ribble View complex needs care home inPrestonspecialisesin supporting adults living withcomplexmental health needs,neuro-disabilitiesandphysical home is also registered to support adults withlearning disabilities, where its the right fit.
Our Nurse-led team has the skills and expertise to support peoplewith complex needs including prolonged disorders of consciousness andbehaviours of concern, andthose who requiretracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feedingtubes.
We require a full or part time reliable, energetic Nurse to workas part of our team. Full flexibility required across a 7 day week including 12hour shifts.
Main duties of the job
As an Exemplar Health Care Nurse, youll work with like-minded colleagues, as part of a multi-disciplinary in-house team, to provide the highest standards of nursing care for our residents.
Our approach to nursing focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible, which means that youll be delivering truly person-centred and holistic care in a community-based home.
The post holder will:
1. Have a thorough understanding of nursing care and best practice including around infection prevention and control, good hygiene, person-centred care planning and evaluating outcomes of care
2. Have a good knowledge and experience of the assessment, admission and discharge process including planning, for service users
3. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with IT knowledge and digital skills
4. Have detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLs, and work within the Codes of Practice
5. Have detailed knowledge of the Nursing and Midwifery Councils The Code and work within it at all times

About the role
This is a highly skilled nursing role where you'll be accountable and responsible for supporting peoples holistic needs. It requires a range of clinical and nursing skills.
You'll provide the highest standards of nursing care for adults living with complex care and health needs. Our care focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
6. assessing, planning and implementing care for the people we support
7. providing person-centred and evidence-based nursing care
8. developing collaborative needs-based care plans through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
9. safe administration of medication
10. promoting health and wellbeing
11. being the Nurse in Charge of a small unit whilst on shift
12. managing situations when people display behaviours which may challenge
13. promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect.
