Job description & Role Responsibilities
H. Young Structures Ltd. is a member of the H. Young & Co. Ltd. Group who have been fulfilling the building industries' structural steelwork needs since 1871, and are also founder members of the British Constructional Steelwork Association.
Since relocating to Norfolk in the 60's from the capital this tradition has continued with a large network of valued clients built up through partnership, core supply chain and proactive value engineered solutions.
From conceptual in-house design, value engineering and detailing through to fabrication and erection, H. Young Structures Ltd are the complete steelwork solution.
H Young Structures Ltd is looking to recruit a full time Senior Steelwork Designer to join our busy team based in Wymondham. This is good opportunity for a dynamic person to thrive, working within a successful and vibrant team.
Responsibilities to include: -
· Work within design budgets.
* Work to company QA procedures.
* Provide value engineering and tender designs for the estimating department.
* Working directly with clients to produce designs to suit specific requirements.
* Mainly office based, but site visits would also be required on occasion
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of experience of structural steelwork design including knowledge of relevant design codes and design software
* Ideally educated with Structural or Civil Engineering degree.
* Candidate to be experienced in structural steelwork member design and steelwork connection design. Conversant in using Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, Master Series and IDEA StatiCa Connection Software. Also experience in Tedds an advantage.
* Experience detailing in CAD, preferably Tekla Structures an advantage.
* Good communication skills.
* Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office software.
* Ability to work effectively and use own initiative.
* Good communicator at all levels.
* Excellent attention to detail.
Other details: -
* Working location based at Wymondham, Norfolk.
* Salary dependant on experience, plus overtime when available.
* Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm & Friday 8:30am - 4.00pm
* 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays. Additional days are awarded dependant on length of service.
* Remote working considered
