ROLE: Partner – Contentious Probate Solicitor
LOCATION: Sheffield, Nottingham or Lincoln
SALARY: Competitive based on Experience
HOURS: 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday

Sills & Betteridge LLP is seeking an experienced Partner‑level Contentious Probate Solicitor to join and help shape a growing and high‑demand practice area. This is a strategic appointment, reflecting both the volume of work already in place and the firm’s long‑term commitment to developing contentious probate as a core specialism.
With a strong existing caseload and increasing client demand, this role offers the opportunity to lead, influence and grow the department, working alongside a collaborative and supportive partnership.
The role can be based in Sheffield, Nottingham or Lincoln, offering flexibility across our regional footprint.
Responsibilities
* Leading a complex and varied contentious probate caseload
* Advising clients on inheritance disputes, estate challenges and trust litigation
* Contributing to the strategic development and growth of the contentious probate offering
* Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team
* Playing an active role in business development and client relationship management
Qualifications
* A senior contentious probate solicitor operating at, or ready for, partner level
* Ideally an ACTAPS member or working towards membership
* Commercially minded with a genuine interest in growing a specialist practice
* Collaborative, approachable and values‑led in your leadership style
