Client Pay Mechanism: Direct Pay Mechanism
Pay Rates: £23 - £25 per hour.
Shift Types / On-call Ratio: 5 days a week, Monday-Friday
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Neurosurgery team temporarily. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a background in treating neurosurgical patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide physiotherapy to patients on an acute neurosurgical ward with 37 beds.
2. Manage a diverse patient group, including those with traumatic and acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, major trauma, and tracheostomies.
3. Deliver respiratory care, including suction and cough assist, given the acute nature of the patient group.
Team Structure:
4. Collaborate with a team of a Band 6 Physiotherapist, a Band 5 Physiotherapist (rotational), and a Band 2 Physiotherapy Assistant.
5. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) including Occupational Therapists (OT), Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Rehabilitation Coordinators, Spinal Practitioners, and Nursing Staff.
Required Skills and Experience:
6. Experience with neurosurgical patients.
7. Strong clinical skills, at least Band 6 level or equivalent.
8. Good communication skills and effective teamwork abilities.
9. Preferred experience in respiratory care due to the nature of the patients.
