We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our network of schools across Ormskirk and the surrounding areas. About the Role As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support students across the full KS3–KS4 curriculum. You will help maintain a positive learning environment, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and adapt activities to meet the needs of learners at different stages—including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in planning, preparation and classroom delivery Assist with learning activities across all subjects at KS3 and KS4 Provide tailored support to students with varying abilities, including those with SEN Promote positive behaviour and help maintain an inclusive learning environment Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning Contribute to progress monitoring and feedback under teacher guidance Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times What We’re Looking For Prior experience in an educational setting (school-based roles, tutoring, youth work, learning support, etc.) Confidence supporting secondary-aged students (11–16) Understanding of SEN and ability to adapt learning appropriately Strong communication, resilience, and interpersonal skills A flexible and proactive approach to working across different schools An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer Flexible work suited to your schedule Competitive daily rates Access to a variety of supportive and well-regarded secondary schools Ongoing professional support from an experienced education consultant All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
