Job Overview

The Senior Information Analyst is a key member of the Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) Operations team, adding value for our patients through improving and developing information services across the Trust and wider health and care system.
This role is part of the 'engine room' of DDaT operations, transitioning from outsourced arrangements to an in-house delivery model. The post holder will support the Informatics Team Lead to ensure that the information team is able to successfully deliver on its service level requirements, working to transform trust data into timely accurate information. The post holder will provide insight and business intelligence to support defined areas of operational delivery across the organisation. The post holder will ensure that information services deliver for the overall Trust vision, and will ensure that essential systems, applications, infrastructure and information are enabled and managed with a consistent, expert and professional team, appropriate governance, structures, stakeholder buy‑in and supporting technology.
Main duties of the job
* Support the business intelligence and information function to drive strategic decision‑making to support the achievement of Trust and System objectives across the following areas: Statistics and planning, Benchmarking and Care Quality, Performance and Quality, Finance and Income Reporting, Activity and Cost, Operational Efficiency and Reporting.
* Guide and enhance operational teams' understanding of the intelligence and insights provided, supporting the informatics lead and principal analysts to work alongside clinicians and operational teams to understand their pressures and enable data to drive supportive action.
* Support clinicians and managers in their use and interpretation of information and promote a culture of good data quality and effective use of information.
* Gain & maintain full working knowledge of the Trust's information systems, ensuring at all times that any changes which may impact on specific analyses are incorporated.
* Produce & maintain routine information content using Trust information systems to meet Trust and NHS requirements and deadlines.
* Liaise with Trust information users to understand their requirements, and to evaluate and advise them on an appropriate analysis and presentation.
* Work closely with other colleagues ensuring triangulation between activity, finance and workforce plans.
* Interpret national policy, and lead the assessment of the impacts locally (in terms of activity and performance).

Education, Qualification and Training
Essential criteria
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Masters level degree or equivalent experience in a related subject.
* Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
* Commitment and willingness to undertake on‑going training and development.
Desirable criteria
* NHS relevant Management qualification (e.g. inspirational leaders' course, Kings Fund Management course).
Experience
Essential criteria
* Comprehensive experience of information management, including informatics, BI, analysis, manipulating large data sets.
* High level of proficiency in BI tools: SQL, Power BI, R.
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into delivered solutions.
* Proven experience of applying methods and techniques for reporting progress and compliance against an agreed plan and business objectives to a range of senior managers.
* Demonstrable ability to identify, plan and coordinate a set of related actions within a programme of business change and manage complex and multiple interdependencies in support of specific business strategies within a clinical IT environment to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.
* Demonstrable experience of involvement in the creation and presentation of business cases.
Desirable criteria
* Information management experience gained in both an Acute and Community setting.
